Final Assignment & Teaching Practica KEVINCOPY

Congratulations on passing your certification exam 😃

By this point in the course, you’ve learned more than a dozen types of meditation, begun a personal practice for yourself, and explored many of the concepts surrounding meditation, which will give you a broad and well-rounded base for your personal meditation practice for the rest of your life, and allow you to confidently teach these techniques to others. I recommend choosing one, two or three of your favorite meditation styles that you would like to practice every day, and specialize in teaching specifically those styles of meditation.

After these final exercises, you will be ready to claim your Certified Meditation Teacher certificate!

FINAL ASSIGNMENT & TEACHING PRACTICA

FINAL ASSIGNMENT: Answer the following questions and post your answers in the comments below

TEACHING PRACTICUM #1: Record a guided meditation (video or audio) and post it on our Facebook group.

EXERCISE: Post a meditation video or audio on our MTT facebook group. I recommend recording the meditation and then uploading the video or audio directly to the Facebook group. Just create a new post using the “photo/video” option (see screenshot below). If you have trouble uploading it there, you could upload to YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, or any other video/audio streaming service, and post the link in the facebook group.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Comment on another one or two of your fellow students’ recordings as well.

TEACHING PRACTICUM #2: Lead an individual (one-on-one) meditation session

EXERCISE: Lead a NEW or INEXPERIENCED meditator in a meditation session. This should NOT be one of your fellow students in this course… it should be a friend, family member, client, or other random person who is new to meditation, or inexperienced with it. This exercise is intended to give you some experience in teaching meditation to someone who is relatively new to it. You can find these types of students by letting friends & family know that you’re graduating from our MTT and interested in practicing teaching meditation, doing outreach on social media, asking around at local yoga/meditation studios, etc. Please make sure to allow the student to ask questions or share their experience at the end of the session! This is a very important part of this exercise.

PROOF OF COMPLETION: You can either RECORD the meditation session (video or audio is fine) and post it on our Facebook group, OR you can write up a report about it and post that on our Facebook group. IF YOU RECORD, you must get consent from anyone who is being recorded.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Comment on another one or two of your fellow students’ recordings or reports as well.

TEACHING PRACTICUM #3: Lead a group meditation session

EXERCISE: Lead a GROUP of NEW or INEXPERIENCED meditators in a meditation session. This should NOT be a group of your fellow students in this course… it should be a group of friends, family members, clients, or other random people who are new to meditation, or inexperienced with it. This exercise is intended to give you some experience in teaching meditation to groups of relatively new meditators.

WHERE TO FIND A GROUP OF NEW MEDITATORS: A great way to do this is to go to local yoga/meditation studios and offer to provide a free class as the final teaching practicum of your certification process! This has the added benefit of “getting you out there” and helping you become familiar with yoga & meditation studios in your area where you may potentially be offered paid positions in the future! ALTERNATIVELY, you can find a group of students by letting friends & family know that you’re graduating from our MTT and interested in practicing teaching meditation, doing outreach on social media, etc. Please make sure to allow the students to ask questions and/or share their experience at the end of the session!
